Rose For Mom Who Left Us

O Lord please give our mom a rose.
And please forgive the way she left.
Let Your love fill up the hole
Inside our hearts that is bereft.
She, no doubt, is with you now.
Please embrace her with a kiss.
Soothe the ache within her heart.
Let her know that she is missed.
Please let this rose a warmth bestow,
That grows beyond whatever hurts.
Blest beauty glows within the soul
To make love spread its perfect works.
This poem/prayer was inspired by thoughts of mother. This Mother's Day I am thinking about my own mother. She was fun loving, loved to dance and sing, and a dutiful mother, under some difficult circumstances, for my early childhood.
Sadly, she left us when I was 10 years old, with alcoholism, but refusing any help. My dad did his best to raise my brother, sister, and I, as Christians, but we missed her and thought of her often. We found her occasionally over the years in varied conditions. Mentally she lived in a dream world. Sadly, she died at a young 51 years old.
